Save your self some time and headaches . Do not use DCP , they sale on Ebay and seam to be very reptible shop . My pump on my 93 screwed up because of the poor workman ship . it had a bad governor shaft in it and contamination . Not from my fuel system . I pre orderd it turned up , with the spring and other tricks . When i go to pay with the credit card . They tell me

it had a problem , they would not say what it was either . Then i get a call a week or two later , ok its ready . Im not convinced it was locked in time correctly as i could never get it timed right until I had help of a fellow TDR members son Drew whom is in the navy that lives a couple hours north of me .

Came down to help me get it running , it ran great for maybe 2,000 miles if im lucky then it started acting weird reving up on start up and stumpleing etc .

So I called DCP they said mail it to us , we will send a label of corse no other pump so im not down anouther week . They said if it was before 30 days they send me to a ADS shop , none near me closest 100 miles , no way it make it . If the pump has over 30 days use reguardless if its been drove

you must send it then . If your on the road its still the same situation if you break down . you must pull it off and send it to them , no ands ifs or buts

and it dont mater if your at a Cummins dealer same story . They will not kick one cent towards your cost or down time . Also drew said the pump was not calibrated right from the shop as well . My neighbor also got a pump with issues just after me .

Sorry to hear about your problems with the VE rebuild. I don't know where you want to go with them but if you decide to use another rebuilder I would suggest you check out Wentland Deisel out of Milton-Freewater OR. They did my pump and it has served me well for over 100,000 miles. They "built" it and I tweaked it after the warranty period.

Good Luck

Bob

Have a friend in Wyoming who insists on buying from them (it's cheaper ) only to have unending problems with his fuel system on a bone stock truck.

I can say im done with DCP I hope that they get enough flack from TDR members that they throw some coin or injectors or something at me . The idea that a pump shop will only warrenty there work at there own shop is just plain insane . This is no matter what issue so if you bought a pump from them on your big rig you would be dead in the water for over a week and stranded . Im hopeing TDR members will call in and voice there opinion . As long as its a Diesel shop it should be coverd with proof of defective parts and the deal with any obusiers on a per issue basis . Especially when they admit upon prior to ship ment there was a problem with the pump but would not go into details of the problem . I had Cyberism's son Drew fix the pump but i have not driven it enough yet to know if its fixed or not . Now im fighting a electricle bug . I need to know if the seat belt wire is constantly hot or not , Also were or what wire do i use to replace the wire going to the starter small wire . Is it fusible link wire ?

Diesel care still owes me four hundred dollars core charge for the vp pump they said they never got back. But ups showed where they had received it and even the person that signed for it . If you read through enough of there feed back pages they do that on regular basis. But the sell so much stuff that there feed back score still stays pretty high

It sounds like DCPs tatics . If we can educate enough people to not use them

We can hit there pocket book . If i knew how to do it id put a nickel bid on ebay under pumps and tell people why not to use DCP . Will UPS back you up ? Id say maybe a well written letter to The Tenn. State Attorney Genrals office or some senator there and maybe something will get done . My truck is still messed up the pump its self is flippin A. .

junk . They admited when i was ready to pay for it to call back in 2 weeks because there was a problem with the pump . but no warrenty and no fix no matter if your on the road out of town or were ever . Whom else has been Raped by DCP ?????
