Competition Now I eat BMW’s

Hey folks, after a 10 hour meeting on Saturday and a whole lot of re-structuring, we are ready to take on bigger and better things.

I first want to apologize to those that responded to my original post about information on the Association and received nothing. I just found out that the list that I obtained was not acted upon. An online form will be available soon.

I am in need of two, possibly three, light duty coordinators. One for the Pacific region, and one for the Mountain region. We have an East Coast coordinator and we value him greatly. If for some unknown reason he resigns, then I will need an Atlantic Region Coordinator too.

The duties include: Getting regional tracks to put on diesel drag races, keeping the points for the light duties in your region, providing the racers in your region race schedules, recruiting racers, setting up the DDRA tent, tech inspections on trucks for membership and at the races, and getting new sponsorships for the DDRA.

Please email me for more details and pay schedule.

I am joining it... ... but as a non racer for now.

Do you have a tenative list of events..... so I can see if I could make any of them at all?

Can you change the membership over to "Racer" at anytime?

Kat, yes, you can join as a non-racer ($25) then just send in your extra $15 for a racer. That will allow you to race in your region. If you start getting antsy and wish to race in multiple regions, then another $40 is required for those regions.

Bandimere is July 28th (Mountain Region)

Quaker City is August 11th with a gamblers match on the 10th (Central Region)

Yea, Deo great idea for the website, it is still under construction, but we'll have pics rotating on that site often.

So Stefan, interested? Where's my Pacific guys/gals at????

Eric,

I'm in with a little help from others I think that we could have quite the show on the west. I might have a in with the guys in woodburn. I can also talk with the guys down at Bremerton.

Brrruphupercoughcough Right Here!

Pacific checking in SIR!!!:)

I've been looking at potential tracks in CA and we have Sears Point, Redding, Sacramento, Palmdale (LACR), Bakersfield, or Ridgecrest (north of Palmdale). There other the large SoCal strips I suppose, but I'm concerned about the cost for a Irwindale or other high profile strip.

It would be cool to have another race here, other then the "Truckin' for Kids" event.

I heard yesterday that there will be a race in Fontana, CA next year, I will post more as I hear. I appreciate the "I can help", but I really need one person that will be accountable for the responsibilities that go with this postition. Once someone is established, I will announce who it is and you all can offer that person your help.

Keep an eye on this website for updates, Steve is working hard on getting this site ready. :D

A new DDRA official!

Well, someone has stepped up to the plate. This person is more than capable of handling the time commitment and responsibility. He has the drive that will help take diesel drag racing to the top. Some of you know him as MADDOG, that's right- Richard Madsen from Salt Lake City Utah. I expect that those that have spoken up, will offer the same help to Richard and help the sport in whole.

Now I can get back to planning the biggest, baddest, diesel weekend ever.....

hey eric. . i would really like to start a diesel car segment to the ddra so vw tdis , and other car diesels could race at all ddra events!. . i think there could be enough following there to the above link is on fred's tdi site and some one from the ddra posted it. I would stepp up to volunteer for that if you guys needed. . i guess i have to talk to joe and bobby joe , doug doring huh?... i know they are keen on getting more people involved in the sport

heck ive thought of doing a full on race car with a tdi in it . . ie like tube frame front wheel drive simialr to import racers but diesel... or a 453 in a nova or heck 6v53 in a nova etc. . it could fit and be bad ***... . and they aren't allowed to run at all the events as the rules are now. . quaker city allowed it but epping was a big no. . let me know what you say or think . . i guess the postion would be like the lightduty truck postion etc. . we could find guys out west and mid west to check with the tracks out there. .

oh well

let me know

thanks

DDRA is an acronym for Diesel Drag Racing Association, am I right?anyone? anyone? anyone?

If it has a diesel engine in it and it's a DDRA sanctioned event... let it run.

I can see the whole NED not letting cars run... . it was the Coastal Truck Nationals and not a diesel type deal.

Matt - enthusiast of all diesels of every size/shape... . just more enthusiastic towards some.

Deo, the names I put in the mag last time were the ones I got from Joe and Betty Jo so I have no idea who it was supposed to be! We changed the names of the classes at the meeting last weekend partially because of the diesel cars that would want to run. The two light duty classes are now Street Diesel and Pro Diesel. You guys may still run into problems at some tracks running cars but we'll try to remind the tracks when we talk to them about events. The problem is that most of the races the DDRA goes to are not really DDRA races right now. If a track has a diesel event then contact is attempted to have it be listed as a DDRA event - however some of them still want to run their own rules. We're working on that though. As far as pictures on the site we plan on putting up pictures of all the racers along with a bio once we receive them. The whole website is a work in progress and I have to work on it between all of my other obligations. BTW, I added an events schedule today with the dates that we have firm commitments on, I also added construction icons to the links that go nowhere right now. Also, watch for a DDRA website banner to show up here soon :D !!

thanks steve. . cool . . i hope the org grows and this next season we work out a lot of the teething problems... even though its beeing around for a long time its finally getting ALOT of interest stirred up for it. . so i believe it will be getting bigger ... any how any thing i can do . . you got it. . and i do have a bunch of cool pics for those bios when that gets going. .
