Diesel Drags At Masondixon Dragway Oct. 17

Hey guys I will be coming tomorrow, but not till about 12:30. I will bring a spare helmet and fire jacket in case anyone needs one. Can't guarantee the helmet will fit. I've been told I have a small noggin.

Oo. A good time was had by all even if it ended with a all ford final. The Girl that took second place was a 1st time racer to which I am sad to say :{ She beat me in the quater finals and went on to beat a (no/name) ex-champoin form the DHRA as well in the semifinals. But there were a few suprises like a 3rd gen that dialed a 14. 00 to my 13. 50 and then broke out with a 13. 2 :-laf . There was a 12. 34 pass by one of the dodge boys again (no/name) and a d-max that ran a 12. 97 on a 13. 2 dial. My best time for the day was a 13. 59 but not during the elimations . I guess I need to get back in the groove after the truck was down for the last 13 weeks. :{ But it was fun just to be there again with a great group of people. :-laf

But there were a few suprises like a 3rd gen that dialed a 14. 00 to my 13. 50 and then broke out with a 13. 2 .

Yeh that was my buddy Chadd. He didn't know anything quicker than a 14. 0 was going to need a helmet. He only wanted to make one or two passes anyway to see how the new set up would do. We new the truck would run in low 13's without a problem. We changed the dial in at the last second before he raced to keep the track officials happy since we weren't totally sure if they were enforcing the helmet regualtion or not. He is hoping that with some more practice he get it in the 12's. That was his first time to the track for at least 10 years.

I had a really awsome day a the track. I wanted to thank all that made it possible The truck was running really well I did put down a 12. 2 at 110,Although I did get beat, by a young woman racing for the first time in a powerstroke in the semifinals, :{ when I redlighted. Thankyou Antrim 93 for bringing this event to our attention . Thankyou ecpeters for keeping me a annomus . For the ICE MAN I think you'd knock . 5 sec of your time if you take your sail down . i believe there are some test & tune events coming soon and i will take it off just to see if it makes a difference.



my main concern is getting the trans to shift into 4th// OD before the end of the track.

i ran almost the same numbers yesterday with the twins and mach 6's as i did about a year ago with a single turbo and bully dog 6's. i know i added 78rwhp with the turbos(i'll find out this week how much the mach 6's added) and still low 14. 1 @ 95mph in the 1/4. i finally tried a 4wd launch and it helped my 0-60 but not at the end.

on the track i plant the pedal to the floor and dont leave up and it is delaying my 3 to 4 shift. i need to get it into 4th about mid track.

on the street it will hit 110mph real quick but that is not holding the pedal down through the gears.

basically i'm going thru the 1/4 in 3rd gear and it's showing me that no matter how much hp i add i can only go so fast in 3rd.

what part of the track are some of you auto guys getting the 3 to 4 shift ??

iceman im making the 3-4 shift at about the 6oo ft mark, im runnign 87 mph in the 1/8 and 109-111 in the 1/4 mi. Last weekend i ran a little slower,ive since tuned my wasteagte setup,and hope to get back to the track this yr.
