I agree with a lot that has been said, but I think I may have a few useful comments.

First 400rwhp is obtainable with just electronics. At least it is now. :D

Adding a pusher pump only works to an extent with high horsepower. At 400rwhp it works fine but much over 475rwhp you start to run out of fuel again. We will have something to fix that soon. We are doing the final testing on it as we speak. If you go big power like 550's + then you need a lot of fuel help.

Also don't forget that fuel pressure and rail pressure are two different things, and fuel pressure (delivery pressure) doesn't always help on a common rail system.

Also with the addition of timing in our new electronics egt's are much much better.

We feel about 430-440rwhp is all the fuel system is worth for the most part. If you cram a large amount of air in with that ( read Twin Turbos) you can get almost 500 on the stock fuel system but it is hard on the high pressure pumps.

All in all I agree with keith! I think soon enough the common rail will suprise people with the numbers that are obtainable!

A good summary, Q.

Don't forget that Diesel Dynamics got 563 hp months ago with a box and their injectors, and a bigger turbo. They are working on fuel delivery, injection pump, etc. now to raise the bar.

Where is 600? Oo.

600hp

We have been over 600, but its not consistent. We have had problems with the fuel system.

600 is not that hard to get with drugs!:D

I know I saw a 563 dyno graph, but the torque numbers looked funny to me.

Big horsepower is fun to work with, but we have been fine tuning our electronics with timing for the pullin folks! All I can say is that right now big injectors and big horsepower electronics together take some special pieces in order to optimize their performance.

Btw I am not dis crediting DD's dyno charts.

chunter, you have mail.

Anyone else serious about a silver airbox? My next batch goes to powdercoat today. If you want one, now is the time to order.

I've been waiting on a report on the new turbo. Anyone have one yet? I want to get one, just waiting on some reports on how it is.

A few guys have them, but not many. The first production run of turbos should leave in the next day or so. Jesse at Pro Finish in WA has one (he's the guy that did 431 at BD dyno day), Mark @ SpeedPerformance/Turbo line has one, but that's about it currently. We are upgrading the truck for Blue Stone (PBR guy) with one now. 478hp with 2's, the turbo and our TTPM. Decent powered truck. :D

That sounds like the setup I'm thinking of going for. I don't want to go too crazy with injectors, i was very happy with the stage 2s on my '02 HO. I use it for towing a 7000lb car trailer and we discussed how at a given power output stage 2s would produce less EGTs than stage 3s. Does this hold true for the 03s? I'm assuming it does so I'd rather do some milder injectors which sound like they'll allow for a lot more top end power than the ISB engine with stage 2s.
