Does anybody out there have any info about "Star Case" # S131100008 ?? This is a 6.7 diesel 2015 truck ....Went to the dealer today and that is what he printed off on the paper work. Thanx in advance Roger

It talks about the possible leak points in the exhaust system and how to identify them. If you only get it when coming to a stop or stopped at a light when the truck is going through a regen it is normal and the smell is being sucked into the cab by the HVAC system. To avoid it place the system in recirc mode. If it only does it once every few hundred miles it is normal, if every time you are stopped you may have a leak. Also be aware if you are stopped and the wind is blowing from behind the truck it can still get an odor inside from the HVAC or any other vehicle near you.

My 10 does the same thing. There isn't a smell from the tailpipe as some would have you believe.
I found soot particles below the EGR Cooler bypass valve so it is an exhaust leak under the hood which is why you get the smell through the vents on the fresh air setting.
Not sure what commands they cycling of the bypass but I know that's where it is coming from.
I think there is a design defect that allows these to leak. Annoying and I haven't found a fix as of yet.
Replacing it is $$$ and with new trucks still exhibiting it they haven't fixed the issue yet.
