Fantastic Extravaganza

Thanks Dennis, made our reservations today.

They are filling up fast. I have a site for two nights, then Saturday they are having me move to a different site. Oh well.

I just can't catch a break

Okay as of last sunday my truck was ready to come out to Schieds and run like h*#$ all weekend long. My new clutch was in my new turbo in place along with the Scotty II air system and it was running perfectly. See sig for other mods. Then on manday on way home from town I was climbing up a hill and decided to put my foot into it a little and the back tires broke loose I went for a wild ride and ended up meeting a rock wall along the road at about 65mph in the middle of a 360* that was completed after I hit the wall with the passenger side of the truck. It totalled the truck bending the frame in 3 places and trashing the bed both frontfenders and the passenger door. The front axle was ripped out from under the truck and at one point or another was knocked up through the oil pan and now something is hammering against the crankshaft when it was still running. I am personally ok but my heart is broken because I was just itching to find out how much power I was making and how fast I could run the drags and how far it would pull the sled. sorry got long winded but moral of story is be careful with all the power these engines can make. I will still be attending the event just with a friend in his 96 Ford Powerstroke. Dan.

I live in Rochelle, Illinois and have a handful of buddies with diesels (mostly CTDs). Wondering if this Sheids Extrav... is worth the drive (250 miles) and time. We're thinkin' about headin' reall early Saturday and stayin' over that night.

This will be the first acutual Diesel event for all of us. I noticed that it is not part of the DHRA schedule; does that mean there will not be much compeition there for the drags, etc. ?

Anyone from our area interested in convoying down, we're leaving Rochelle around 4 or 5 am on Saturday.

It will be worth the drive. From what I was told at Scheids store... they were working on making this some kind of points race since Muncie got rained out... or something to that effect. Not really sure about DHRA rules etc. Anyway this meant some big names in the sport were coming. I'm not 100% sure about all of it since its a 1/8 mile dragstrip.

Stretch the legs on that truck and get over here!! I honestly think you would like all the stuff. I've driven for two hours to something much smaller (no drags, no pulls) and didn't regret one minute of it.

DO IT

You wont be disapointed it was awesome last year and im sure it will be even better this year its only about an hour and a half for me but I would drive 5 or 6 hundred miles for this event.

Yes, the DHRA is going to be there for points, everyone is welcome to come and run. There will be a BURNOUT contest too!

Will there be a stock class at the drags? I'd like to see what my HO can do ;)
