Going to try to get over there. Not a big fan of Terre Haute, but want to check it out, since I missed IRP

Me either, but I'll be there. Usually most people stay at the Drury Inn or the Pear Tree. They share parking lots. I don't know about this year though as last year they had the police doing patrols so I guess they didn't appreciate all the extra rubber n' smoke.

All I know for sure is pick a place and make a reservation. I've never been to a town where the hotels were sold out so often.

we went last year, it was alot of fun. i dont remember what hotel we stayed at but they did share a parking lot with another hotel i believe. i did a nice burnout in the parkinglot too!! i talked to a couple sheriffs when we were leaving the fairgrounds and he told me they wouldnt pull you over for the smoke, but they better not catch you spinning the tires. i raced quite a few people in that town that night!

Well, that is a bad weekend for me and Diesel stuff. I will be in Bristol, TN for the NASCAR race. Can't miss that it will be my first trip down there. -Jason

Where's the cheapest hotel in Terra Haute? I'm tired of paying like $80 a night for staying in the Drury/Pear Tree (which ever is closer to the interstate). Any hotels for like $50-60 a night?

cheaper than Drury/Pear Tree

Mark,

mopars1 says that the Econo Lodge's parking lot butts up against the Drury/Pear Tree property where the action is. Econo Lodge was about half the price of Pear Tree. Drury was about $20 more yet than Pear Tree. I didn't make the reservation, but I'm thinking I was told the Econo Lodge room for 2 dbls was in the $50s.

Thanks for the tip! Booked up a room @ the Econo Lodge $52 Thurs & Fri night (AAA price), $62 Sat night

Sure beats the heck out of $80 a night. Oo.

Thanks again!

cheap hotels

There's more up the street, just gotta go north on 3rd street (US41) closer to 'downtown'. I think there's a Dollar Inn or something, has a sign 29. 99 on the building, it's behind the Bob Evans just off the interstate. . IIRC.
