Mark, try a site like Priceline.

We used a different site (but can't recall the which one off hand) when my brother and I went to IRP, got a room for something like $50-60, for the 2 of us, for one night. Was about 5-7 miles away from the grounds.

The Knights inn parking lot butts up against the Drury/Pear Tree Lot. The Comfort inn is back behind it about a 1/2 block. The Econolodge is on the other side of the Hwy 41 from the Drury/Pear Tree. The Hampton is on the other side of 41 and the south of the interstate (70).

Thanks for the tip, I will use it in the future. I competely forgot about that site though thanks.

Yeah we stayed @ Days Inn for IRP because they really disappointed me at the Amerihost by losing my advance reservation & info, raising their rate on me, and only offering me a smoking room. Unfortunately I completely forgot about the Days Inn not having a swimming pool. Something my fiance did not let me forget all weekend as she stayed at the hotel all day Saturday. :-{} :( :-laf

Can you guys get me the number of the Dollar Inn in Terre Haute? I'd appreciate it. I've found a few better places, but then again... It's only a place to sleep, we'll be at the track the rest of the time.

The Econo Lodge IS the old Knights Inn. The new Knights Inn is south of highway 70 and the Econo Lodge is north of highway 70. I have stayed at the same place for 4 years, even though the building changed ownership.

The Holiday Inn is right on I-70 and 41 and is one of the few hotels with a lounge in it. The Hampton Inn, Drury Inn, Signature Inn and Pear Tree Inn are all right there too. As far as where to go after... . I have yet to find a good place close to the Extravaganza... good luck!

Guys:

Is the Dollar Inn still in existence? The # BPickerel gave me was another hotel, not the dollar inn, which makes me think it's gone. I have made a reservation at the Knights Inn, how close is this to the fairgrounds?

Thanks,

John

I don't know about the Dollar Inn, but the Knughts Inn is located in the Southwest corner of exit #7 and I-70, and is on the same side of the road and North of the Fairgrounds maybe a mile.

What are the PPL "Diesel Superstock" rules? The only PPL rules I can find are for "Diesel Prostock". Does superstock allow twins?

Econon Lodge is booked for Saturday Night, I did get a room at the Super-8 though.

Edit: We did stay at the Knights Inn last year. It wasn't too bad, maybe we got lucky?

Booked a Super 8 suite for $65 per night. They usually have a decent trailer parking area so I tend to stay there.
