Bio-diesel Avalibillity In Ohio

$14,000/mo diesel bill--Possible to switch to Biodiesel???

Linkl

Thanks for the link. That's a good artical, and a subject definitly worth watching.

300,000 barrels per day would help with the import of oil.

EPA 2007 requirements

The real push for this is coming because of the government mandate to have ultralow sulfur diesel available for the 2007 diesel emmissions requirements. Sulfur going from 500ppm to 15. Regular diesel can be refined to that level but obviously has cost associated with it. Since GTL has no sulfer at all it is looking promising to blend in to help get there. Here is another link I found ... http://www.ivanhoe-energy.com/s/NGTL.asp.

I work for Freightliner - and can definately say that the 2007 requirements are forcing larger changes than 2004.

This technology is promising. My National Geographic earth at night map says that 100 billion cubic meters (3. 4 trillion cubic feet) of nature gas are flared off annually at oil wells around the world. If a large amount of that could be utilized, energy prices might stabilize, and some reduction in global pollution, great.

This isn't going to help reduce imports though, natural gas is pretty much the same places that have oil.

Bio-diesel however is domestic, and renewable.

Another little thing to keep in mind is the Bush family is heavily invested in the Qatar natural gas fields, this new "Green Diesel" will make Bio-Diesel fade into distant memory like a wet dream
