Diesel Fuel Additives

Ok, there's already post here about amsoil and stanadyne additives but let's go more general: I've been trying to decide if I should use a fuel additive. Are they good or bad for the Cummins diesel? 12v or 24v? I have a bunch of additive sitting in my garage that I used to run in my 12v (I can't remember the name -- it's what Camping World sells). I haven't used any in my 24v yet but now that winters coming I'm considering using some for lubricity in cold starts.

Good or Bad?
Use all the time?
