I’m trying to identify if I have a small fuel leak. I’ve read of using UV dye to locate oil and fuel leaks. Wondering if anyone has used it with diesel fuel on their truck. What dye did you use and how much to add? I’ve seen some small uv dye that says it’s safe for oil and fuel. I was thinking to add with tank around 1/3 to ensure it doesn’t get too diluted. Checking around the injector tubes with my UV flashlight at night I’m getting some slight yellow/green shine. Im not sure if oil, diesel or both normally shines this color under UV light. It would be great if I could find an orange dye then I would if it’s fuel. Thanks for any advice.

does the dye you're using require you to wear yellow tint glasses? Some dyes require that to see it more clearly. Usually oil or diesel doesn't have a yellow tint to it that I know of, could be wrong. Clean the area that you're looking for the leak at to avoid false detection. Add grease, dirt, oil and other things could be causing the glow. Just make sure you put enough dye in to give you some results. The stuff in the auto parts stores is okay but need twice what they recommend! Been there on an oil leak!
https://skygeek.com/ is an aviation site with all sort of helpful items. If it's safe for planes, good for me! Some stuff a bit $ but depending on what your doing, "buy once, cry once". Good hunting.

Try to run your tank low, then add dye. Then drive it for a bit to make sure it gets all thru the system before looking.
