Diesel fuel price extremes: How bad in your area?

I consider Flying J one of the better places to buy fuel when out on the road. But around here, Flying J is a ripoff!!! Their CASH price is 14c higher per gallon that the credit price where I fuel up As far as I can tell, my truck runs equally as well with the no-name brand I get compared to Flying J's premium.



Which brings us to this poll. . . how great is the diesel price extreme in your area, within 10-15 miles of home?? Compare credit to credit prices, since most probably don't buy with cash. That makes it $. 18 here.

I have seen a 15 cent spread... from federal way to enumclaw. About 20 miles!

Seen up to 30+ cents difference between stations here in North Seattle. I buy from CFN, and the price is usually around $1. 40. The local Texaco has it for $1. 79.

$1. 24 in Mahwah, NJ. I have seen about $1. 60 for the highest. That's the reason for my transfer flow. I usually save at least $15. 00 a fill up.

I just filled up at Flying J this morning and the price was $1. 359. About 1/4 of a mile away it was $1. 599. The $1. 599 was the cheapest I have seen in the Portland Or area outside of Flying J. By the way I use my debit card and that works out fine.

Here in W. Montana Conoco seems to have the monopoly on diesel, at least the price is a consistent $1. 72/ga.

There may be something funny going on around here. The last few monts all the stations have the same price except CFN. Yesterday all of the, including Flying J cash price, was $1. 65. CFN was $1. 61.

In Colorado Springs, I have seen an average of $1. 69 at most stations, but at the Sinclair station on Platte, a block west of Circle, the price is $1. 49. I don't think they are a high volume dealer, but for $. 20 difference, I had to try them. So far so good. It's been over 100 miles and so signs of bad fuel.

Well, here in the tax U to death state...

In Connecticut, I see a few places that are $1. 49 including my favorite Citgo. But usually I see $1. 59 to $1. 69.

I've been paying $1. 49 for the last 2 months and before that $1. 45.

As far as gas is concerned, I laugh when I see $1. 81. Thats usually the cheapest you can find. God I'm glad I have a DIESEL

For the past two months Pilot has been at $1. 49 in CT. A Local Mobil station is selling at $1. 79

Anywhere from 1. 399 to 1. 799 on the MD side of the Baltimore/Washington area. Diesel is more expensive than gasoline at some of the higher priced stations.

Big fluctuation in price....

From Georgia to Florida that is. I have it pretty good here, with 5 truck stops in a six mile stretch of I-95. The prices are usually within three or four cents of each other. Right now the price is $1. 24 at a Hess and Cisco truck stop. Williams is at $1. 27. Now go 30 miles down the road in Florida to Jacksonville and prices are running anywhere from $1. 49 to $1. 73

Prices went from 1. 60 to 1. 43 just the other day here in northern Minn.

Up here in the great white north most of the stations in town are running about $1. 63 a gallon except the Amoco Premier which has been about $1. 75 a gallon. I tried all the cheaper places with no noticable change in fuel economy or driveability. About a month ago I used the old girl to haul some stuff for the shop and the boss had me fill her up at the Amoco station on our wrecker service account. I was extremely suprised to gain 1. 5-2 mpg and my puff at start up and fuel knock under light load are gone. I've been buying the Amoco since.
