After an exhaustive and unproductive search I am hoping that my fellow TDR members can help me locate some rubber hose so that I may replace some lengths on my truck.

I tried to research the stuff online with no luck at all.

Local parts stores looked at me funny when I ask for diesel rated fuel hose.....

It's late (early)... time for bed.

Matt, it was recommened on this site to use fuel hose spec. J30R7 50 psi when replacing our failing fuel hoses. I got mine at NAPA.

A Mercedes-Benz dealer is a good source for very high quality diesel hose. Price is competitive and the they carry the correct sizes.

Go to the West Marine right next to the Cummins East dealer in Dedham, MA. They have marine rated fuel hose that is made with a thicker sidewall than the others normally available.

Ahhh..... excellent replies... . as usual.

I'll check out all of the sources and see what I like best... but I think I'm gonna go with the USCG marine rated stuff.....

My truck will go slower with 'Benz parts on it... haha

Black Hose w/ Yellow stripe

Heavy trucks use this. It says Magnum Aramid Diesel SAE J1402/SAE 30R2 Performance on the side of it. It is real flexible and has a heavy rubber and aramid wrap around it. Can probably get it from Parker or on a roll at any truck parts house. It is rated for diesel and other oils. That's about all I know but it might help.

I don't mind payin' sales tax every now and then... . it's when you pay $50 per $1000 when buying a car that kills ya... .

Thanks for the info!

Matt

Unless I am a resident of WA (which I don't think will happen anytime soon..... nothing against your state... it's just that I'm about 3. 5K miles away... ) I won't have to pay sales tax on the vehicle until I go and register it here in MA.

Even if I bought a vehicle in NH (been there, done that... ), which has no sales tax, I get to hand it over at the registry in MA. D'oh!

No sales tax (state level, some buroughs have one) And... no sales tax on anything in Washington State! Yes, I am an Alaska resident!
