Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) will a 98.5 turbo work in a 99?

I have a dumb question about diesel kleen. Im just getting ready to run some thru my truck. I have a bottle that says it will treat 100 gal.

Heres my question. How much should I use ? The bottle that says it will treat 100 gal says to use so much per gallon of diesel. But, the bottle that says it will treat 50 gal says to use a different amount per gal of diesel. Im pretty sure that both bottles are the same strength of diesel kleen.

The standard amount is 8 oz per 25 gallon of fuel. But if you want the maximum cetane increase of 6 points, you must use 16oz per 25 gallon.

First time I used it, I did the double dose. After that, I kinda use the standard dose ---> I usually fill when I need about 20 gallons of fuel and I usually use 8oz at that time...

I don't know if it really helps, but my truck seems to run smoother, emit less diesel smell from the exhaust and I feel better about treating the USLD...

Since I tow with the truck, every little bit seems to help...

Hope this helps,

Louis

Thanks for the input. I was planning on doubling the dose, but I didnt know if that might harm the engine. But, I want to make sure I get the maximum cleaning. I have been told that, for a gasser, its a good idea to dump a whole bottle of injector cleaner into maybe less than half a tank of gas. Otherwise it just isn't strong enough. But, if you get too aggressive, it will eat the hoses.

I stopped buying Diesel Kleen when the price went up from $9 for the big 96 oz. bottle. I have since tried and very much like Amalgamated Diesel fuel treatment. I ordered a 5 gallon pail of the TDR winter and summer blend. Much cheaper and a better product in my opinion. I am feeding diesel to 2 trucks so in my case it make better sense and cents to buy in bulk.

Well, let me ask you this then. I use either Stanoline or regular PS for lubricity for my vp. It was my thought to use the diesel kleen just to, hopefully, clean up possibly dirty injectors. And, hopefully, make my truck run a little smoother. I thought I would only use it once in a tankfull or 2. Should I be using diesel kleen, or a similar product all of the time /

I would strongly recommend running a good quality fuel additive all the time. I do. I use Walmart Supertech 2000 outboard 2 stroke oil in the gallon jug for lubricity at about a 100:1 mix and the recommended mix with the Amalgamated fuel additive. For lubricity, the Walmart 2 stroke oil is the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

2 Cycle Oil

The Amalgamated is much cheaper to use now that the price of of the 96 ounce jug of Power Service is almost $20.
