2007 Toyota Tundra Review

I work in the Chrysler minivan plant in St. Louis. We went back to work today. During the 10 days of down time they installed new fuel equipment. They installed the ability to fill vans with diesel fuel on the line. They have 2 diesel vans in the plant now for testing. The hood latches were unhooked so I couldn't pop the hood and get any engine info. So it looks like they will be a diesel van for 2007. they are going to have a whole different van. we are shutting down for a 4 month model change starting in May. looks like a fun summer for me.

They were just trying to keep nosy people out! ;)

Next time try a little harder for us, will ya? :D

As you know, a lot of the North American DC products (e. g. , Grand Cherokee, etc. ) are available with diesel power in Europe. With the advent of ULSD, perhaps we'll see more of these diesel-powered products making their way back to the United States.

My plant hasn't built any minivans for VW yet. I think we are going to build them though. I have heard that the caliber is going to get the 2. 0 VW diesel for 2008. a 30mpg minivan would sell big time.

We owned two D/C minivans and loved them. 20+mpg,roomy,stable and fun to drive. A quiet diesel one would prompt me to sell my Honda Pilot which we love also.

A Caliber w/a diesel would be great to replace my wife's New Beetle. She wants another NB down the road but hopefully I can talk her into a Mopar with a diesel.

I heard there was going to be a VW diesel powered Chrysler mini van sold in CND in 2007 or 8, maybe that's what they are getting ready to build?

i have been the proud owner of 84,89,92,98 and 2000 caravans. i saw a diesel caravan in salzburg austria 5 years ago. it would be great if they would get a diesel version for the US. the only problem will be if it comes underpowered. DC has a history of putting in under powered or just adequate powered minivans (with the exception of the 89 turbo van).

if they don't put out an engine comparable in torque to the honda odyssey, they won't get my business. their poor attitude on repairing the rotting shock towers on the 98 and 2000 vans has left me looking for another brand.
