Diesel performance shops near Atlanta??

Ok, I admit, once the bomb bug bites, it only gets worse. Based on my current mods I believe the next steps should be injectors, modified CP3, FASS, (or equivalent) and headstuds. The FASS seems easy enough but I don't know if I feel good about doing the injectors, pump and studs.



Anyone got any experience with shops near Atlanta? ------Thanks for your input.

Only ONE I've ever heard of was Garmons on the South side. Talked to a few that had work there. Said good work,knew their stuff etc. but said prices were OUTA SIGHT. Said the Dealers he had used seems like a discount store compared to Garmons. But thats here say. Don't know first hand. To me the OTHER side of Atlanta might as well be in another state.

I had heard of Garmon's but hadn't seen hardly any feedback. I appreciate the input. I'm still sitting on the fence waiting to see the final outcome of the pump mods before I jump however. I may have to give Garmon's a call. If I jump back into the BOMB party, should I do the cam and springs also. I would really like to have a truck, (it's a 2wd), which could break the tires loose in third gear at will. Gee wiz could one ever get enough power???



PS - DPKetchum - I know what you're talking about. Getting to the other side of Atlanta with the traffic we have is unbelievable. Since I live on the north side of Atlanta I think I can get to Tennessee or North Carolina quicker. :{

Not just the traffic its also the DISTANCE. North side to South side darn 70 miles or better. To be honest I called Garmons once "several years" ago about a 1993 W250 I had. Priced injectors,pump tweeks etc. He was OUTA SITE on what he quoted and what he wanted to do. Something about it turned me off. Redo my old injectors at XXX tons of money etc. I bought NEW performance injectors at a FRACTION of what he quoted to fool with mine and had installed them myself(and NO CORE) in a couple of hours. Pump tweeks same deal. Several HUNDEREDS for this and that etc. Found all the info on this site and other then pulling the pump(which he wasn't doing) nothing about it was very labor intense etc. Did all my tweeks and then some over a couple of hours AND reading the directions. Neighbor had a 1999 24 valve towed to him needing a VP44 injection pump. Quoted close to 2k. He towed it out and a DEALER did it for a little under $1200 parts and labor. Would think a town this large there would be some others specializing in Diesel truck stuff. I think he's the only game. Its the ONLY name I ever hear mentioned.

There's Southern Truck Performance (I think that's the right name) on the east side of Atlanta. That's where Jeff used to work.

I have a shop 50 miles north of Atlanta. I'm small time, so i don't stock anything. I can get anything you need next day though. I will do my best to beat any price. I actually went into the business because I have owned and worked on diesels since i was 14 and all the diesel performance shops were charging unreal amounts to do the upgrades when I first started getting into it, so I opened a shop. Also, thanks ----Alan Reagan, Southern Truck Parts in Conley did some ATS trans warranty work for me last year, but it is also on the other side of Atlanta. When the wife and I went to pick up the truck it took us over 5 hours down and back. (She indicated I could just drive down and spend the night next time :-{} . As expected you Guys always come through. Oo.
