hows this for warrenty work

Diesel Superbike

I picked my first copy of the magazine to see what its like, and was highly disapointed. First of all ran across the word Bling way to many times, and the featured rigs were what I WOULD DESCRIBE AS BLINGY!!!

like how many average middle income Joes could possibly afford these trucks!!! Also there was nothing at all about 12 valve trucks, suppose they cannot waste precious space writing about our old mechanical engines :(

I own a 1994 truck and couldn't afford a new truck. I dream of having a 2nd gen 24 valve. they sound awsome. I just wish that the people who publish that magazine would try to have more info on the older trucks too.

JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW THE WORLD IS SET UP FOR THE WEALTHY

I would agree with this, but are you supprised? The thing that bothers me is that there has not been a mag without an article featuring banks stuff. Granted there has also been a Kelderman truck in each, but none the less. Money talks, and the money the advertisers want to spend is on the computer controlled trucks. Just look at the upgrades that are on the market. The only reason 12v trucks have so many aftermarket parts is because they work on the 24v's too. There are more people who would rather plug in a computer chip than mess with an injector pump using tools. I love the 12v trucks but for the people going from a gas burner to a diesel just to pull their race car trailer on the weekends want the plug and play power. Just my $. 02

what do you expect the magazine is ran by a ford owner, they must be jelious. :-laf a couple issues back they had an article about a ford pullin truck that had a 12 valve sheids engine in it... . that was pretty wild. :D

I agree. I saw the very firs issue and what was all over the magazine? FORD 6. 0 & BANKS! I dont mind some things like that but most of the stories were new fords or fords getting banks upgrades and so on. The last magazine I saw there were 3 "bling" Banks trucks with rims that cost as much as my old 94. I did see PDR though which was good but I with they could do some more big upgrades on some old Dodges and maybe it would also be nice to see some old Fords.

I bought the last one with the "2 Tons of Torque" or somethin like that to see what those Chevs were doing to make all the power. Turns out it took 2 Tons of parts to get the bottom end to take what the computer was shoving throught the top and make the hp many 12s are doing right here. Or wait, maybe that was an episode of trucks I was watching or then again it could have been that 4x4 show with the annoying guy and chick. It's all the same. Maybe we should see if someone can get a high hp beatup 12V work truck featured somewhere. Might have to borrow some of those fancy spinner wheels for the photos though. On the other hand at least someones publishing a mag that has something to do with diesels.

you know if we all sent emails about a diesel powered 12v dodge to a show like trucks maybe they would actually do a project on them or even the 24v id like to see a 12 tho since they did do a thing on a 24 w/ some plug and play crap and they have had a few fords and chevys an old mech motor would be awesome so them what real power it

I have been trying to grab a subscript for a while and still cannot get thru ... even using primedea. What Gives ??? Are they lng for this world or is Gale buying it out too along with Trucks! and Horsepower TV  :-laf

It's starting to seem like Gale is a host on Extreme 4x4. I'll give him this, he is a master of getting his products on TV and in print. I guess you don't have to be a master to dump money into advertising. I've got nothing against him, but an uneducated diesel owner might think that his stuff is the best based on what they see on a few TV shows. I guess that's why he's the biggest.

Well I bought the mag knowing from the reviews here on TDR. I see they are trying but I think they should cover all brands, this includes the small diesels of toyota, mitsubishi, etc. and large :--) diesels like on ships.

I would like to see some articles on the new and upcomming technology on injection systems as well as the old jerk pump styles.

I am not a single brand loyal, but I do love my cummins. :D Example I have a kubota tractor.

You still have to rember money does make the world go around. Prime example, is do you work for free?

I am not bashing anybody, but "diesel power" in the the market to make money, so they are going to pick their market where the most popular selling diesels are.

They are trying to establish market share with a brand new mag in a tough market. How many magazines have failed in the last ten years because they did not have enough readership/market share?

banks is a good company my moms truck has the stinger system on her 94 12v 3500 its been good for pulling a 6 horse trailer i also know others w/ banks and are very happy w/ it the thing is banks makes power w/ reliability and safty in mind thats why u can put them on and still have the warrenty on the truck they do throw alot of money into advertising but hey 50 years of good tough products says something to people and remember he started doing things others didn't and said couldn't be done but if you look at there race stuff its pretty extreme and there testing stuff is tough they make sure its good they just back it off when the produce it now im not trying to glorify banks and say its the best i think as many do there are cheaper quicker and better ways to make the same power anyways thats my . 02 worth

u can put them on and still have the warrenty on the truck

While Banks makes this clear in their literature, I honestly don't believe that if I had a full banks system or any part of a system on my truck and the engine blew that it would be covered under warranty.

I understand the Magnusson/Morrison act and all that, but realistically this won't happen without lawyers involved and spending many times what you put into the motor in legal fees.

yeah i did the computer form for subscribition twice . . in the last few months and i haven't heard from them. . it does kinda suck. . they have to be soo havrd to find too it takes forever to find it i think th local barnes just started carriing it before that i had to get it in the bronx!!! an im not worikingthere so im not gonna drive there to get a copy haha

They should call it Ford Diesel power. In the latest issue there must be like 50 ads for air intakes and Bank accessories. I'm tempted to count the air filter ads, they are on almost every page. I've purchased two issues but I can't see myself buying anymore since I don't care that much to read about the show queen $100,000 rigs or how much power gain they got from plugging this or that into a Ford. In the latest issue the owner backs up his decision to purchase a new Ford on his research. :) I wonder if they'll have anything about this in the next one.

well im going off what another guy has said the way i understand it he has had warrenty work on his 24v tho he has a banks kit on it my mom waited untill out of warretny because the dealer ship had a banks kit on one of their and they said if you put it on it will ruin the truck and they wont cover it

All I have to say is even our own HoleshotHoleset as a writer there does a good job. Now calm down guys... . we are a Dodge site, but as some has said... the Golden Rule. . the man with the gold makes the rules! Right now they are trying to get your/our attention. There are MANY more Ford P/S's out there than DC trucks. Sorry but that's the facts. If they can get the mag off the ground and running you'd better believe those guys will open their eyes a bit. I look at a mag like OffRoad or the like and think they had to start someplace! Even now they have something for you to dream about in there! If you read the Editors article in this new issue, he even stays that they are trying. He also apologizes for having one of the infant issues being a "Ford" issue. He also says they are looking for advise and input! Common guys don't give up yet! Let them hear our voices and adjust!

If you guys are gonna Judge this whole magazine on Banks and the fact that it's not JUST a Dodge mag, it's sad. If that's what you want... . Your here... you found it. It's called the TDR, the place where Dodges ALWAYS rule. Banks as far as an Infant magazine is concerned is a good thing. Look at the Draw it will bring! People have heard of Banks, it's almost a household name! Piers, doesnt' need to throw money at them... . Just wait till BBD, Rockin Rhonda, or Fletcher get a full page write up! Lets see Banks do that!

How about the 2 MBRP (?) Trucks on the cover? They are advertising tools for that company! Send in your Rigs guys! I'm sure they are looking for articles about REAL world trucks!

OK... Off my soapbox!

Josh

PS, Holeshot, keep up the good writing! Great Article!
