Ladies and Gents, I write with sad news. I'm sure you are all aware of increasing fuel prices on diesel, as well as the degredation of diesel quality over the last few years. Well, here is a bit more smoke for you: apparently, the all-knowing Governor Engler in Michigan will decide today to increase the tax on diesel fuel in MI by $0. 04 /gallon. Doesn't sound like a lot? Figure that price into every gallon you buy for a year and then see.

Maybe I should start looking into one of those little toy hybrid cars...

Sorry for the long post, but frustration seems to be the way lately.

We live just off a small resort island in N. E. Florida. Diesel prices today are $1. 29 a gallon. High, partly because of escallated resort prices, and partly because of Fl. fuel taxes. Now get this... ..... If I drive 20 minutes to Georgia, fuel is $. 96 per gallon at Williamsons. Sometimes it is as much as $. 40 per gallon cheaper. Some of this difference is due to more competition but a lot is due to fuel taxing. We save enough by driving to Georgia to eat lunch at Cracker Barrel!

Hey fellas, about the hybrid cars, her in Oregon, they have sent the owner of these cars notices that since thy don't use as much fuel as everyone else, they doubled there license fees. Tim

I miss being so close to Ohio. Up here in Traverse, there's no line to cross for a discount. Pretty amazing how the price jumps for the weekend travelers. Maybe it's worse in vacation spots.
