Thanks, TDR Staff

Exactly what is this "DPF" thing?

Duramax service?

Thought I would share this website that allows you to see the price of diesel in 8 different regions of the country by the DOE's EIA dept. Updates are daily at 5pm.

Interesting facts and figures as well as being able to see the flucuations in prices from the various areas.

What I don't understand is the price differential vs. gasoline, anywhere from . 25 to . 40 per gallon higher here in Central IN.

Same here... Diesel $3. 15, Regular $2. 59 (and dropping).

Home heating oil season has started... I heard one analyst state that the prices would "fall off a cliff" soon, but he gave no indications as to why...

I'm down to driving my truck once every two weeks... can't justify the cost.

The highest price we saw for diesel on our trip last week was Kingman, Arizona, which was $3. 49 per gal. We didn't get any there.

I was in Peru, Indiana last weekend. About an hour SW of Fort Wayne. Truckstop was $2. 79, station 2 miles away in town was $3. 12! Local guy said both are owned by the same company, go figure! Here it has been $3. 19 for a few weeks.

After looking at the graph, fuel appears to be cheapest between december and april! Fill your yard tanks!

2. 70 for 93 in my chipped bmw and 2. 89 for diesel in my truck with chips, the truck stops are 2. 93-2. 98, been driving the bimmer as i don't wanna use up the tank of 2. 83 diesel i found :-laf

The local Ingles grocery store has a fuel station now and their diesel has held at 2. 79 for months now, while everyone else in this area is at 2. 99. I use my Ingles card and get 3 cents a gallon discount which brings me to 2. 76. I have been driving the Jeep and the old '96 (with waste engine oil and waste vegetable oil) a lot more lately and the '03 has been sitting... I will fill up my 300 gallon tank when prices drop. The other 300 gallon tank is for waste vegetable oil. :)

It has been over $3. 00-$3. 05 here in Tampa. On Friday I did get a shock at a Shell station where it was only $2. 97. What kills me is that the Shell station a mile down the road (straight mile), it was $3. 05.

I agree tgordon it could be from the changeover, heating oil will be the next big thing up north during the coming months.

Yeah, but everyone is filling up their HHO tanks right now in anticipation...

Here in Gardnerville, NV reg gas is $2. 89 & diesel is $3. 18. Diesel 2 days ago was $2. 85 in Pahrump, NV. Something wrong somewhere.

I filled up yesterday in Reno... $3. 39/gallon! It was $114 dollars before the Safeway card discount. And I wasn't all the way empty. It was $2. 50 or so about 3 weeks ago. What a bunch of carp!

I fueled up at the spot that is usually the cheapest the other day. And it was $3. 27!! And I had let my truck go way below I usually let it go to. We looked on a simular web site. But everyone is up to $3. 17 or higher! I don't even look at gas prices any more it makes me mad to see it is so much cheaper than diesel! Safeway is pretty good with the card discount! But still its crazy!! I hope it goes down soon.

And sit tight ladies and gentleman:

U. S. light crude oil for November delivery rose as high as $86. 20 a barrel, an intraday record, before pulling back a bit to end at $86. 13, a new record close. Heating oil and natural gas prices jumped as well, raising questions about how consumer spending might be impacted.

It's all got to end soon I hope but I still love driving my diesel :)
