Has anyone added a Diesel Pro fuel filter to their Dodge. I am wondering if it is possible. The literature suggests that they are to be used on the suction side of large engines. The 232 model is for medium duty engines and can include a 12v heater and a WIF sensor in the same package making it simpler to install than some of the other systems members have created. Will the stock intank liftpump work? any one know the pressure of the stock pump. Any information or opinions welcome. I live in Connecticut so a heater is probably necessary. Thanks Harry

They are a great filter but I'm not sure where you would mount it as the top needs to come off to change the element. The nice thing about them is that you can see at a glance just how plugged the element is, another reason why it needs to be mounted where it can not only be seen but easy to change. I had thought about one for my 03. Shadrach

I very seriously considered doing it back in 2005 when I redid my fuel system. There's a brief mention of it here.

In my case, it was a 382, not a 282. I still have that 382, and I'd love to run it. Problem is, it's SO LARGE it won't fit anywhere under the hood!

At one time, I considered removing the passenger side battery, but the problem with mounting your fuel filter there is now you're running out across the engine and back again to the CP-3.

I've also considered putting it on some kind of mount on the driver side of the bed. But I'd rather not expose it to the weather like that.

So it sits on a shelf, waiting to see if some day I find a solution.

I'm not sure how big a 282 is, but if you can figure a way to mount it I say go for it! And then tell us about it.

The 232 is shorter than the 382. but the problem is that it is designed to work on the suction side of the oump . Mypump is in thetank. I have heard that the intank pump pumps at about 9psi but with a large volumn. some members have said that it can pump through 3 filters no problem. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Harry

I put one on my 95 12v took out washer res and mounted it to fender works great. On my 03 I have a transfer flow tank so I just filter the fuel comming out of that before it goes into the stock fuel tank. I wanted to mount a pro filter on the 03 but couldn't really find a good place for it and it most defiantly has to be on the suction side. if you come up with a good location let me know

I doubt it would be a problem to mount it on the pressure side. Just do an experiment first. Or call Davco, they might be able to tell you.
