I read in my latest Four Wheeler mag. that the Jeep Liberty will be available w/a 4 cyl. , HPCR, turbocharged diesel. Supposedly due out in '04-'05. Being sold in Europe already. http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/roadtests/9396/ The mag. had more info. than this shows. The mag. said it actually has, unless they had it wrong, a 5 spd. auto. , not a man. trans.

Don't be too quick to judge that 2. 8L powerstroke. It's mechanically injected with the familiar rotary bosch pump so it's easy to tweek. It also comes with a variable geometry turbocharger. Main downside I know of is that it uses a timing belt.
