How did Ford get the new Power Stroke approved for CA, MA & ME?

diesel swap information

Hi all,

I have a question regarding diesel swapping. Does anyone know a good shop (in the northwest) or anywhere for that matter. I am looking to find out what it will take to duplicate a vehicle we just lost. (Long story short: A F. . ing log truck rear ended my brothers 68 GMC. The driver didn’t even have time to brake and was traveling at approx 55mph and my brother was rolling behind someone turning into a driveway (5mph). Total loss of the truck (grace of GOD he wasn’t killed) The truck was very cool, 68 GMC long box 2wd with a Detroit 4-53NT (turbocharged) and a Clark 5 speed.

Sooo, does anyone know of a shop that can give me an estimate on the cost of a swap like this. I’m looking to establish market value or something like that.

Thanks a bunch.

Andrew

P. S. Any tips on dealing with the insurance adjuster?

insurance adjuster

I have found if you are very patient, you will make out way better. (Wait a few days to return phone calls, let them call you), and let the whole process drag out for a couple of months if you possibly can. Insist on your price. Let them offer you a price, and turn it down.

They are used to dealing with people who need money right away, and who are willing to settle for less just to get their hands on a check. I found out in Minnesota any claim that is not settled in 30 days goes on a list at the State Regulators office. I made sure my negotiations stretched out past that time.

Randy Blueth in Arizona. Reliable Diesel. He does a lot of conversions, mostly 5. 9's into GM's, but he might be able to help you. Do a search for his number. Good luck.
