Diesel Swap Info

I'm Wanting to dive Into a couple of Cummins swaps My first Swap is going to be My 79 Chevy K20 I have the T-case and transmission, a 96'12valve with nearly a million miles (so I'm looking for some good rebuild info/parts), mounts ,crossmember,hydroboost,Dana 60 front axle,and Intercooler.





I still need a flywheel,bellhousing,clutch,exhaust,Turbo(s)



I have an 8. 3 cummins I wonder if it would fit ? if it will physiaclly fit what are the differances part wise to use it???

Just going to throw this one out there. Purchase a running vehicle to make the swap from. Piecing together all those parts on your first one IMO is very risky. What if you get a bum part? Youll be fighting your first custom install and the bad parts. Seems like the very LONG way around it. My . 2

I have a complete running 96' ex-cab 2wheel drive 3/4 ton that's gonna be the donor for the Chevy

I need a bell housing, Flywheel, clutch,new turbo, Exhaust. I have everything else ready to go in the truck.





I'd like some advice on how to set up my engine it's gonna be my daily driver/tow rig/Hot rod. I'd like to get some where around 400hp/1100ft-lbs and not have to worry about burning it up pulling my 15,000 pound trailer. my Engine Budget is about $4500. 00 to rebuild and mod Can this be done????



Also my truck has the 180hp P7100 pump can the pump cam be changed to the 215hp stuff??

start searching for mods for Gen 2 trucks, same deal once it is in your truck...

Good luck with it. Rebuild might be the ticket indeed. .

The donor runs great It was well taking care of but with so many miles I'm gonna do a complete rebuild

Traded My 8. 3 for a 2001 2500 4x4 24 valve that was rolled with a bad frame and no transmission truck has 80,000 miles I'd like to P-pump this engine and find a NV5600 and mate it to My Ford NP 205
