Here I am

"Diesel Thunder" has been in Spokane, Washington for 4 years!

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

DIESEL THUNDER Hotel Party Central

May Madness

Maybe they didnt read the thread because the title didnt interest them? I pick and choose alot by the title. By the logic of " I cant believe all those NW guys didnt see this til now", you could throw the shoe on the other foot and say how can everyone else not have seen the Diesel Thunder in Spokane threads?

If there is no legal claim to the title then there's not much can be done, but if there is then the T-shirts shouldnt have been printed until the homework was done. Just my brass nickel

I fully understand everyone's point. We missed the posts. It doesn't, and SHOULD NOT come down who has a "legal claim" to the name. Not the point here. A request was made and was in no way intended to ruffle anyone's feathers. Just a matter of respect.

If the merchandise has already been printed, not much can be done, but perhaps next year the name can change.

Appreciate everyone's input and handling this in a civil manner. :)

A very interesting point. I would think a few friendly emails/phone calls between concerned parties could bring about an agreement.

A lot of us never get to make it to a national event, so we skip the hype threads and read the results threads.

As a closing thought, I would sure hate to see this become an east vs. west thing.

I agree. There is enough crap in this world w/o getting all spun up over the a name. If the request can fit the bill, and the merchandise has not gone into production. . the it's worth a try.

Like I said before in another thread. Regardless of it's name, here's to it being a successful event.

I fully respect your concern in the matter

The official name for the event being held at IRP this year is (and I quote from this thread here)... https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119442

quote. . "The official name of Thunder in Muncie has always been US Diesel Nationals. We have renamed the event to DHRA Diesel Nationals at IRP. " Diesel Thunder was picked by (some) TDR members as an unofficial name.

People are gonna call it what they want no matter what anyone says. I still refer to the previously metioned event as Muncie or TiM as I am sure a lot of other members still do to.

Mr. Hanson...

Are you suggesting a few friendly emails/phone calls could bring about an agreement but, if an agreement was not met this would become an east vs. west thing?

disclaimer. . I have no affiliation with either group. The opinions expressed in this post may or may not be shared by either of the concerned parties. And at this point there seems to be only one concerned party.

This was posted in one of the other threads.
Sounds like another East vs. West coast thing. Diesel Thunder @IRP.

I believe this is what Rob Hanson was referring to when he made his post. Someone else threw that out there. If you knew Rob, he would never want things to turn out that way. We are all on the same side here. :)

The misunderstanding has been resolved!

I would like to let everyone know that the problem or misunderstanding of the name "Diesel Thunder" has been resolved.

I would like to thank Eric McBride and all those involved for the professional manner and promptness of the resolution to this problem!

Diesel Thunder name will accompany the Spokane, Washington event and DHRA Diesel Nationals will be associated with what use to be "Thunder in Muncie".

Thanks again, I am really proud to be a member of TDR and a great bunch of brothers, & sisters who have the common interest of Dodge Turbo Diesels (Cummins).

I feel I owe Eric and Neal a public apology. I had PMed Eric and before I let him reply, I posted on TDR.

Eric and Neal, Please accept my apology for not giving you a chance to respond. This probably could have been handled behind the scene if I would have not been so concerned.

Thanks Eric, now I can sleep! :-laf :-laf

Thank you again.

Will, thanks for your understanding.

As you can see by the number of replies to Here it is! Place your Vote. only 58 members replied. There are almost 24,000 TDR members. For an National event as big as "Thunder in Muncie", each Chapter of TDR should have been notified. This was very easy to miss.

Way to go Bob.

 I thought you guys were talking about this great NW event. Evidently not, huh?
