Thanks, TDR Staff

Thunder in Muncie to get new name?

"Diesel Thunder" has been in Spokane, Washington for 4 years!

AmeriHost Inn, Plainfield, wins the title!!

On virtually a dead end street, with an open field across from it, plenty of food, and adult beverage retailers nearby, (10% discount for AmeriHost customers)and an understanding manager, that drives a truck and likes dragracing, who said she will reserve the ENTIRE hotel for Diesel Dudes, until the end of the month, and then a $60 a night price tag, it was a no brainer.

Welcome to party central!!

Be sure to mention Diesel Thunder @ IRP.

Boy, did I drop the ball on this one. As of this morning, Amerihost is booked on the 25th. I did get a res. at Days Inn (across the road) for the 23rd, 24th, and the 25th. But, the chick had no clue about special pricing for "Diesel Thunder @ IRP". And, she has no idea what mayhem will reign down.

But thats OK, cause when the riot squad shows up to tear gas the Amerihost parking lot and arrest the mob, I'll have a clear view from the safety of my parking lot. :-laf

Well I'm not quite sure why Sleddy posted this again.

He posted this in the "Hotels for IRP" thread at like the middle of last month, and it was booked solid except for "suites" just a couple days later.

Glad I got my reservations right after Sleddy initially posted! Oo. Oo. Oo.

Mark, the date for Sleddy's post is Feb 8.

While this is at the top again, do you think that Indy police will be as "flexible" as the crew at Muncie? I'm betting they will not be as friendly to us.

EDIT:

Cooker, I just looked up the "Hotels @ IRP thread" and saw that they were the same date. I assumed it was older because I just found this thread today.

So far everything I'm hearing about Indy's Police is bad. :(

I was planning on bring a spare couple of tires/rims this year too. :{

The name Diesel Thunder has been used for 4 years by a very sucessful event in Spokane Washington. With respect for this, please choose another name so people do not get confused by the name and event.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration,

Big Bob

Haha, a little late for that now isn't bud :-laf  .

The Diesel Thunder event that Big Bob is speaking of has been posted on this site before. It's not a new thing. He asked respectfully and consideration should be given.

I realize this has been on the boards for some time. We must have missed it.

Thank you for your consideration.

Wish I had seen this earlier, as a member of both NW Bombers and TDR, knowing that Diesel Thunder has been used in the Spokane Washington for the past 4 years, and has been posted on this site, for the past 4 years, Diesel Thunder should be a Northwest event, not a National event, even though you have seen forth to add @ IRP, it’s just not right.

In respect to the Northwest, just pick my suggestion and call it Midwest Thunder and send me a free weekend pass. Oo.

The misunderstanding about the name "Diesel Thunder" has been resolved.

I would like to let everyone know that the problem or misunderstanding of the name "Diesel Thunder" has been resolved.

I would like to thank Eric McBride and all those involved for the professional manner and promptness of the resolution to this problem!

Diesel Thunder name will accompany the Spokane, Washington event and DHRA Diesel Nationals will be associated with what use to be "Thunder in Muncie".

Thanks again, I am really proud to be a member of TDR and a great bunch of brothers, & sisters who have the common interest of Dodge Turbo Diesels (Cummins).

Ok, so the event formerly known as "TiM",in 04, which was an abbreviation for "Thunder in Muncie",03,02 which was originally shortened from " Diesel Thunder in Muncie",01 which originated from Eric McBrides/ Daves Diesel/ GLTDR get together in 00, will now be known as the "DHRA Diesel Nationals. " Which is at Indy, instead of Muncie.

The name has changed, the venue has changed, but the Diesel smoke and the party keep getting bigger and better!

Somebody else posted in another thread, they didn't care what we called it, the important thing is, it was only a few months away!!! And its around 100 days and some change, now!!

And party central is still at the Amerihost Inn, in Plainfield! :D
