anyone else with the 3500 dually getting a howl noise from the

rear diff when going over 100 kph/ 60mph/ noise goes away

completley when letting off throttle. the truck has 10,000 k.

i suspect the ring and pinion gears.

I got a howl from the rear of the truck that had me checking the rear diff oil level.

After reproducing it a few more times though, I've decided it's turbo noise. It rises and falls with the turbo RPMs and not the driveline's. I get the feeling it's the exhaust side of the turbo singing thru the exhaust pipe under certain load/speed conditions.

Mine does the same thing starting at 50 MPH, it goes away at about 55 MPH. It's only there under throttle, not coasting. I only have 1100 miles on the truck so I'm waiting a while before I take it in to see if I have anyother problems.

Rear end howl

Mine is doing it, starts at 45 MPH and continues ti about 72 mph. The dealer has replaced the ring gear and pinion and it cured it for about l500 miles. Started doing the same thing again and the dealer has ordered a complete rear end, excellent dealer. What I mean by complete rear end is the entire casing complete with gears. Best of luck.
