Some of the commercial toilet rolls (the cheap ones) seem to be a harder more dense paper material than what we are using. Has anyone tried these with analysis to see if the denser papers (than scott) would be any improvement in filtering ability ? Some of the rolls I have seen are at least twice as firm to the touch and tighter wound..... inquiring minds want to know.

Frantz element response

O K so no one has tried it or I've asked the question in the wrong place. So I will try it one of these days with analysis and see what we get.:confused:

For off the shelf stuff, the Scotts works fine - for a better TP cartridge, the stuff Frantz sells seems quite good - and the heavier center core is a plus for strength as well as tighter fit to the filter center post.

The commercial rolls you speak of look excellent too - just need a retail source...

source ?

Hi Gary... . Noticed where you are from. Mom lives in Sutherlin. I have seen these rolls at " Janitorial Supply" stores and expect will find one in a Roseberg sized town. I get up there occasionlly to visit Will try to say Hi next time I head that way. :)

Yup - not many sources like that here in the John Day area - might check in the Bend or Ontario area sometime when we're that way - but for now, I have a good supply of both the Frantz as well as the Scotts. I need a good supply, since I use the Frantz in both the oil as well as the fuel filtering departments!

Gary, how in the hell do you keep that thing that clean?... It's gotta be going up in value... . :-laf

It's a mixed blessing I guess - we don't drive the truck nearly as much as we used to while in California - so it's easy to get a rag and dust occasionally - plus, it keeps fuel costs down - I'm barely out of winter fuel!

But when my Alzheimer's finally turns terminal, someone sure will get a neat truck! :-laf:-laf

Hey, youre too smart to have alzheimers. You just need to find some new rivers or lakes to use your remote control boat fishing deploymrnt rigs / trollers. .
Trust me, its a blast.
