The Drag comp fuels all the way to red line the regular comps stops at 2700 rpm as far as I know. I have heard that the Drag version may have a little more hp at the bottom end also.

Comps

I have had both on my truck. They say that the drag comp version only effects level 5. Level 1-4 on both are the same. On level 5 it pulls hard down low all the way to 3400 rpm. Real world seat of the pants the drag comp feels stronger on all levels. Smoke seems to be more EGT's are higher.

That right there is a friggin' understatement!!!

Minimum of 200*F difference in EGT's at the top end between when I run my Drag Comp or Denis' regular Comp. I say minimum because I can only hit 1450*F w/ the regular Comp, but with the Drag it burries the pyro right past 1600* and stays there, so I don't really know how hot it's getting.

Almost has me to the point that if I change exhaust housings and that doesn't help some I'm gettin' rid of the Drag and going back to normal. In side-by-side runs w/ basically identical pickups, the drag version only gave me 1/8 of a pickup length in the 1/4 mile.

If you had switched the boxes around right after that, i bet the truck, that "kept up" with the standard comp, would walk right away from the other truck when running the drag comp.

I picked up a lot of upper rpm power with the drag comp. Bottom end it fuels harder too. The day i got mine, I came home from work driving on a standard comp. There was a package from the UPS man on the porch. It was my drag comp. i took out my standard comp, plugged in the drag and took it for a drive. I had probably twice as much soot rolling out the tail pipe off boost, as i had 5 minutes earlier with the standard comp. I'm convinced they fuel harder on level 5x5 all the way from low rpm to 3400.

If you didn't see a difference, is it possible that you need more air? I notice your at higher elevation, and have more fuel than i do.

Chris,

I've got just about as much air as I can have flowing w/o going to twins. Have my KSB1, Scotty II, and Rip's 4". When we ran our pickups side by side, we had nearly identical setups, both w/ DD3's, identical B1's, etc... now he has a standard housing B1 and I have M3's. At the time, we did swap comps back and forth... about 4 times... if he was running the Drag he got me by about 1/2 length, which says his pickup does run stronger (and is about 2-400 lbs lighter) but that the Drag Comp really isn't giving much more than extra EGT's. He does have a slightly different T/C than me, which I think leads to him keeping up somewhat too, but it's not that much, cause once in 3rd lockup, we run side-by-side, neither gaining or losing ground.

My regular comp fried itself and I had a new upgraded drag comp two days after calling Edge... couldn't do a real good comparrison, as the old one was basically stuck on 2x3 at all times.

Josh

Forgot to add, am going to swap my KS housing for the standard housing soon to try and reduce EGT's.

Could be bad too

I went through 3 drag box's before I got a good 1. two of them would run and not throw codes on my truck but where very weak running.

I got the 4th one on the truck now and it is HUGE as far as the difference.

Note: they all fueled all the way up to redline but the power was lame.

So it could be you have a bad Drag Comp

Hmm... Interesting.

If you ran both boxes on both trucks, and it didn't make much of a difference, then i think How'dHeDoThat may be right.

All i can say is my drag comp over standard comp makes a huuuuge difference, from the instant i mash on the pedal, all the way to 3400. See if edge will swap you for another one. They have always been easy to deal with from what i've heard.

BTW, with the mods in my sig, my drag box made a 187hp difference. I did 272 on just injectors, and the 459 with the box on 5x5. This was on winter fuel too. No way i'd trade my edge drag comp. :D
