I got to be looking at the gen wireing on my 92 and wireing on my 94 engine only diffrence i can see is a extra plug other than that every thing should plug into the 92/93 harness the 94 has a extra white square plug what does this go to?? the 92 /93 has the same grey and black plug as the 94 does so what is the extra plug for ????

I don't know the differences, but I do believe that the Bosch P pump has both a "pull in" coil and a "hold" coil. Pulls in during start and holds while running.

So you'll have to make a provision for this

White? Where is it? I'm not sure what that'd be..... The only electrical on the engine is the alternator, fuel solenoid, diesel heater, water in fuel indicator, oil pressure, water temp, and tach. The grid heaters run directely to the grids... ... Is this white plug open or mated and running to the engine? Is it an auto?

As stated above, the P-pump used a large 65amp? relay to actuate the start section of the fuel shut off solenoid, and a smaller circuit for the hold/run section. Your pump wire for the VE should run the run portion, while the solenoid is easily run off the starter wire.

I was comparing the wireharnesses on the 2 engines . I guess its not really white but more of a light grey in color , these are on the 92/93 truck on the driverside rear on the engine on top , my 92/93 is a manual , one was a former auto truck the 94 im going to be swaping is from a auto going to a manual . Im just trying to figure out a nice easy way how to wire this up , the alternator stuff that is just a plug and play as that is not changed , i just need to figure out how to energise the pump and shut it down . Youd think some one would have come up with a wireing harness , instead of Painless wireing answer was a harness for the comonrail engines . I have not called cummins yet , or the case tractor dealers as im not shure which model had the cummins 6bt with the p pump .

you can buy a pump relay harness for a gasser in jeggs /Summit for $30 but if it will work with a P pump ????? any one got ideas , or whom to call ?

When I repowered my boat with a P pumped 6BTA, I wired the holding coil to the ignition "on" wire and the pull in coil to the "start" wire. The engine had relays already so I didn't have to add one. You could use a generic relay that bolts to the firewall or fenderwell.

I'm gonna wager the extra plug is for the TPS on the pump. I'll try to check this afternoon. As for the P-pump wireing, that's not an issue. Take the wire you already have going to the pump solenoid on the VE and wire it to the p-pump run wire(white, I think), a good ground wire, probably to the battery(should be black), and then a wired relay to the starter wire, fed by the starter relay wire(red); or a heavy guage wire fed off the starter engine contact(which will have lower voltage, not the best way, but will work). I used a Dodge relay on my '92 Furd.

If any one can come up with a diagram to use to wire or splice it it would be nice , i do even have a 85 gas harness as well , i got every thing for the wireing for the 94 , the relays etc as well
