difference between....

I`m currently reading about the different brands of exhaust systems here on TDR. I know what a muffler is ( I know, your so smart ) but what is a resonator, and why should I install both?

The resonator just changes the sound, probably an effort to get rid of the drone. Thier usually straight through so they present no appreciable restriction.

i have an 05. had it straight w/ cat, then straight w/o cat, then just a resinator. i had more drone with the resinator than i did w/o. the resinator just changed the tone of the exhaust. it was too import sounding for me. i switched back to straight and still think thats the best sound.
