I would like to know what Dodge/Cummins does to make the different power ratings for their Autos versus the Manuals. For instance I believe the 98. 5 through 2000 Auto is rated at 215 HP and the manual is 235 HP. What do they do different to make the extra power in the manual transmission trucks? Injectors different? Computer different? Injection pump? Is the turbo wastegates both the same or different?

Also is there any issue with putting a manual engine in an auto truck? I'm shopping for a used engine for my auto truck and some of the one's I'm looking at came out of manual trucks.

Thanks!

I own a 2001 H. O. 6 Speed. Stock HP is 245 over 235 for a non H. O.

I know the VP has a higher pressure output and is for the H. O.

Injectors have higher pop-off pressure.

Turbo is an HX instead of a HY.

Pistons are different. Higher compression.

Computer controls ???? Not sure, but probabley software mods.

Hope this helps:)
