Difference of loudness without cat.

I have an 05 with MRBP single outlet catback.



I am planning on replacing the cat with a DPPI test pipe shortly. Has anyone done this in this order and how much of a difference in loudness in cab will I experience.

We have a 2004. 5 here that has the MBRP performance replacement muffler and the cat test pipe. Our opinion is it sounds good and doesn't drone or make it too loud. Some customers have said it was too loud if you pull the cat. Kind of like paint colors, everybody has a preference and opinion etc.

any truth to the claim that 3rd gen no cat, 4" turbo back is quieter than similarly equipped 2nd gen?

I have the 05 Auto I recently gutted the cat and replaced my muffler with a Magna flow straight through muffler the truck is the same at idel it definatly souns better down the highway it is no where near as loud as my 2000 that new motor takes all of the noise out of it, my buddy just replaced his exhaust from the turbo back with a 5" system same thing it sounds great not loud at all.

I completely cut the cat and muffler (strait piped) off my 05 and boy this thing is loud!!!



I had a 95 that was strait piped and it was quieter than my 05. I drove the 95 for years strait piped. . I drove my 05 for a week strait piped before I had to put a aeroturbine on it due to it being so loud... Just my opinion... take care

I had aeroturbine w/ cat. Sounded good, kinda loud. Wanted more with less egt's. Minus the cat, just the aeroturbine, sounded LOUDER... alot louder. Like it lots.
