Differences

I am looking at a new '07 Megacab. Since I haven't been keeping up with the latest on the new trucks, what is the difference between the '07 and '08 megacab with the auto trans? I would like to know before I get to attached to this new '07 and have to buy it.

Is it an '07 5. 9L or an '07. 5 6. 7L? Does it have the old 48RE four speed automatic or the new 68RE six speed? The differences between an '07 and '08 are those. If it is an '07. 5 I am not aware of any significant differences.

That would be the question then. I'm waiting on a reply from the dealer now. I wasn't sure if it was '07 or '08 that the change took place and what trans it would have.

One Slight Dfference

I think ... although I have not seen an 07. 5 in person ... is that the Laramie wood grain trim is darker on the 08. Personally I prefer the darker version, and I went with the 08 because I hoped to avoid the software issues the early builds in a new generation always have.



So far so good, but I'm only at 4200 miles. The 6 speed auto transmission, jake brake & override switch are SWEEEEEET.

07 5. 9 has very few to no issues
07. 5 6. 7 has more issues, but not alot.

07. 5 could have the six speed and exhaust brake, but possibly not.

Not alot of interior/exterior differences.
