this weekend i noticed a small oil leak from the afc and i decided to take it off clean the rubber gasket and tighten it back down. slid the plate up a little while i was in there too :D. when i went to tighten it back down 2 of the bolts stripped out on me not tightening them that much. i looked around for a bolt that was similar and i found a 1/4" 28 thread bolt so i decided to tap the holes and put these in. it worked perfectly and is no longer leaking but i am just wondering if this is okay to do. i needed the truck the next morning and the stores were closed so i couldnt get any helicoil. everything seems to be fine.

As long as you dont split the housing, and its not leaking oil, you should be good to go. I have run a lot of miles with only 3 bolts, no leaks.
