Some folks mentioned getting a higher capacity power steering pump. I'm going to be adding a milemarker winch and was wondering how expensive an option like this will be. I can only guess that this is big bucks, since we have the hydroboast power steering system. Has anybody installed an auxillary hydraulic pump and or reservoir? If so what are we looking for in costs??? I checked once a couple of months ago at a hydraulic system in town and they indicated a self contained electrical pump/oil system would run over $500 in the box!

I worked this same problem recently and bought an AGR steering pump and inline fluid cooler. AGR says it will double the speed of your milemarker. I have not installed my parts because I've been thinking of getting a new truck. I do have a milemarker installed and the line retrieval is certainly slow.

On my early Bronco i installed the power steering pump from milemarker, a Saginal pump. The low speed picked up about 15% from the plastic resavoired ford stock OEM pump. mine is a 2 speed, so retrieval isn't too bad. But you are right, low is slow; but I still wouldn't trade for an electric. When i can afford it, i want a road armor front bumper and I will move my milemarker to the RAM.
