I'm about to change the differential fluid for the first time on my 2016 3500 4x4 SRW. I was wondering if I need to add an additive like Amsoil Slip Lock. I believe the AAM 11.5 rear end has the TracRite helical differential (no friction plates). I'm a newbie, so any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

SevereGear is HIGHLY rated. NOT just by AMZ/OIL.

I guess at 65K with 55K on the 75-110 SevereGear on my 11 HO Dually towing 29K combined for well over it's life they look like crap. Those are Factory machine marks on the gears. Oh and those are the WRONG 3.42's for the BIG load I was carrying. Never a groan from the rear.

12v98, nice picture, but its obvious from that list of trucks you have owned that you don't keep them long enough to wear them out, so how would you know if one lube is better than another. I'm trying to think of anybody I have known who wore out a rear end in a HD truck and the list is real short, no matter what lube was used

Pic shows virtually no wear to the ring gear. Zero grabbing, can't say the same about the OE that started grabbing well before 20k on my 15. Wish I would have dumped the OE crap early like I did on my 11.

one thing never changes. Amsoil users often resemble members of a cult and have cultish belief in the stuff. :)
Yep, to each his own. Been running it since '78 in everything I own, weed eaters, chainsaws, snowmachines, Harleys even when dealer said rino oil only or warranty no good with synthetic, then they come out with their own brand of synthetic Pulled head on my '01 and mechanic said cleanest diesel he's seen. Yep its a little more expensive but you get what you pay for, just gotta put yor big boy britches on and anti up.
