Differential cover bolt torque specs.

Can someone let me know how tight you should torque the bolts on your rear differential cover after a fluid change? I searched here but I couldn't find the answer...

Factory spec is 30 ft-lbs, but the consensus is that 30 is too much. See http://www.klenger.net/dodge/3rd-gen-reference/torque.html for a list of some o the torque specs for the 3rd gens.

Ya, the service manual says 30 ft-lbs but one of the recent TDR issues (45 or 48 I think) indicated that was probably the wrong spec brought over from the Dana axles and inidicated the type of bolt used on the AAM series should be 18 ft-lbs.

snug by hand using a stubby wrench is enough...
