I am getting ready to change my Differnetial lube oil. I know it needs to be GL5 75W90 Synthethic.

How much for each axle?

What about the Transfer case what oil and how much?

I do not have a service manual and did not find this in the owners manual.

Will I need to change the gaskets? What si the torque on the bolts?

Thanks

Your going to get some different opinions here ... jsyk

I Put in 4 qts in the rear , 3 in the front.

Transfer case is ATF +4 , unsure on capacity.

Gaskets on the differentials are reusable.

I torqued my bolts to 35ft lbs (no leaks)

Hope this helps...

GL-5 rated for both differentials, and ATF+4 for the transfer case.

Dodge Capacities:

NV-5600 9. 5 PTS

Xfr Case (NV-241) 4. 6 PTS

Xfr Case(NV-241 II) 3. 4 PTS

Frnt Diff. 4. 75 PTS

Rear Diff 7. 65 PTS

The torque spec is 30 lbs on the diff cover bolts, and 26 on the fill plug. The gaskets are reusable. As far as the transfer case, I'm not sure. I thought that oil was changed at 30k with the transmission.

The XFR Case is a seperate unit... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... not combined with the transmission!

Correct - but I thought the fluid was also changed at 30k at the same TIME as the transmission. Maybe I'm mistaken? If that's the case my t-case is probably overdue!?I better double check the manual.
