Turbo Questions

As usual guys looking for advice. I am wondering what my options are as far as what mods I can perform without a lot of time to test before I make a road trip? I've purchased the gauges, HX35 Turbo, AFE air intake, PODS, DTT transmission upgrade stuff. With all of this cold weather and nowhere to do the work, I'm a little hesitant and not sure if I should leave the truck stock till I return or attempt to do the small modifications, i. e gauges, intake and turbo and leave the injectors and the transmission mods till I get back. I'm heading down to the Mopars at The Strip event the end of March.

What would you recommend?

You'd have to hold a gun to my head to get me to work on the truck outside in Manitoba in February.

I think I'd aim for the DTT upgrades, the reason being that all the other stuff, especially the turbo & PODs, is going to put a lot more power into a poorly set up transmission. Oh, and do the gages, of course, so you have a baseline for the remaining mods.

Personally, I never attempt and mods or repair work just prior to a long trip. I mean, say, a few days prior. This gives you several days to repair what you didn't expect to find or break/fall apart during said mod/repair. It bits you big time and it hurts.

Give the work plenty of time. (this way you have a few weeks to order the unexpected worn/damaged/broken items you didn't plan on :) )Then, when you suspect it's done right, test drive several days. Keeps an eye skinned for potential problems during this "trial period".

You do read this forum often? It's the simple things like advancing the pump timing that breaks fuel lines and ruptures O rings/gaskets.

I wish I could take back the times I started some repair/maintenance prior to a trip. Do the gauges and wait until spring (July in Manitoba?) :-laf :-laf
