i won't get to pick up my truck until feb so i'm currently in the research stage... i'm thinking of mounting either a cb or a scanner in this cubby. could somebody please measure theirs (h x w x d) and post it here for me?

Curt,

I have a cobra cb that has the works in the mike. I put the guts to it under the shift console (I have the electronic transfer case switch). It is a very neat install. I will post a picture if you are interested or can use that type of install in your truck.

i got the manual tc so i would have to mount it somewhere else but anyway... how do you like the mic only cb? is it as easy/easier to use? i need a place for a scanner as well so this might be an option...

OK, the cubby on the manual Laramie truck (has heated seat switches on each side) is 4" wide, 4" deep and 1-5/8" high.

The cubby right below that is 6-1/4" wide, 2-3/4" high, 3-3/4" deep to the back, and 3" deep from the lip to the bottom.

Dean- that's a clean CB install there!

Curt,

I like the cobra cb, I normally just use it to talk to folks I'm traveling with. I mounted 2 motorola cell phone speakers between the middle seat and the console, one is for the cb and the other for the cell phone.

Dean

Naw. He took it out to make room for the CB. PRIORITIES don't ya know? :D
