Is it true that dino oils are a big NO NO in the new AA axles ?

Does anyone know what oil comes in them, and what oil would be approved for topping off?

Also curious if friction modifiers are needed with a limited slip rear end?

All advice and experiences appreciated.

I would think if you just want to top off you would be safe with the Mopar oil from the dealer. I just waited 500 miles and changed it to Amsoil 2000 front and rear.

Whats wrong with Mobil 1?

What is the feeling out there about Mobil1 75-90w synthetic gear lube in the AA rear ends? I have been using it for years and have not had any problems and it is sold at most auto parts stores for about $6. 00 a qt. Is the Royal purple, Amsoil, Redline or any of the other synthetics any better? Got any data other than just opinions? You all know how opinions are they are just like warm fuzzy's. Four ball buster tests results anyone? Billy Adams:D :--) :-{} Come on hit me!

I think Mobile 1 is good stuff. I put about 100,000 on my Dana 70 and the gears still looked like new the last time I changed the fluid.

I'm planning on using the Mobil 1 synthetic when I change out the fluids. I was checking out some equipment the other day at work and noticed that the data sheet was calling for the Mobil 1 75w-90 to be used. This was in a Ingersol-Rand steel wheel roller that was equiped with the Cummins engine. :D

Mobil 1 is good. I use Valvoline full synthetic 75w-90 in mine. I'm not convinced that the others are any better. Amsoil compares dino oil to their synthetic. Isn't this kinda like comparing a Dodge 3500 HO to a Ford Ranger and concluding Dodge is better than Ford?

I use Shell Spirax "S" 75W-90 cause it's cheaper and is certified for extended change intervals by the major axle/transmission manufacturers for real trucks. I thought it would probably do ok in the little **** ant Dodge. Oo.

You can check the Shell website for the MSDS.
