Why are there leads for LED lighting? It came with an incandescent bulb and socket that plugs into the back of the gauge. That bulb can be dimmed with the dash lights. What's the point in an LED backlight as well?

I just recently installed this on a 04 Ram and if you don't hook up the LED lights the gauge face and needle will be too dim to read at night. The rear lights give it the green glow, the LEDs light the gauge face and the needle. ensure you observe proper polarity of the LED wires. Ken Irwin
