Hey fellas just noticed that right about where the handle of the dipstick meets the tube there is a tiny tiny bit of oil there. Im wondering if this could be the O-ring on the dipstick the truck only has 62,000 miles on it but it is a 96 so O-rings prolly are a little dry. Thanks im prolly just worried for nothin. Nick.

I have heard that the o-ring could cause a leak there. However, I just had a problem a few weeks ago with excessive blowby. Oil was coming from blowby tube and spraying under the truck. It also spraying some out of the dipstick tube onto intake horn and on the top of the brake master cylinder.

It did it for a few days and then stopped mysteriously  . I took it to Cummins for a manometer blowby test and the test passed (6 in at WOT. . max is 16 in). They figured I had probably been overfilling the oil which will cause it to blow oil out the blowby tube :{ .

Since you had just a drop this is probably not your problem. If you had blowby tube plugged it might cause that too. I'd replace your O-Ring and see what happens. ;)
