The 24v trucks are 11 quarts.

For what it's worth, the 12v engines are also 11 quarts. Back in the late 1990s, there was some discussion in the TDR print edition (do not ask me which one) about what to do with that extra quart when gallon size bottles are used for an oil change. A lot of the advice was to just pour it all in, all 12 quarts. The oil pan is sufficiently large to take the extra quart without causing foaming or consumption. I don't recall anyone reporting that horrible things happen.

Counting the oil that stays in the p-pump 12 valves do hold 12 qts. That is why you are supposed to fill the pump with oil when it is first installed prior to cranking. It also the reason that the oil turns black so soon after an oil change. The oil in the p-pump doesn't drain out.

Here are a couple pictures of the dipstick, the 38" measures the black plastic tube, but the is also a metal insert there the dipstick goes. Here are a couple pictures the last one shows how far the metal dipstick extends from the end into the oil pan. 20220109_121602.jpg20220109_121609.jpg 20220109_121708.jpg
