I'm often in my truck without my seatbelt on (driving around the yard, moving trailers, maneuvering in tight spots etc) and the seat belt chime drives me nutty. I was poking around under the seat trying to decide which wire to clip to shut off the chime when my 5 year old son came up with a solution.

"Daddy, why don't you just plug the seatbelt from the front middle seat into your seatbelt, that will make the dinger stop" Darn it all if he wasn't right. As soon as I plugged the middle front seat belt (which never gets used) into the driver's side seat belt receptacle, the dinger shut off. Now I can drive around the yard without being annoyed. Funny how sometimes the low tech approach works... .

I pulled apart the plug under seat and put in a jumper wire. no chime, no light.

guess I should have looked at the manual.

No you did the right thing cuz thats just the chime, you still get the dash lamp. I clamped a scotch lock on those two wires at the drivers buckle. Plugging another belt in works fine too but you have to unplug it when you want your belt on.
