I will need to leave my 03 parked in the driveway (too tall for the garage) for two weeks unattended since I'm getting married. I am thinking of unhooking the power supply to the FASS in case some wise ***** tries to take it off my hands while I'm gone. That's about as a discreet of a way as I can think of disabling the truck while I'm gone that I can think of, besides maybe removing the inlet to the CP3. I've got great neighbors that will keep an eye on things for me, but I still want to be sure.

Any other suggestions?

Pull a couple of relays out of the fuse box under the hood. Such as the fuel, ignition, starter, etc. . But the pull the batteries idea is a good one too.

Put a couple Ford symbols on it. Pop the hood and put a 6. 0 Stroke engine cover over your coolant hose. Leave the keys in the ignition and the windows down. No worries. :-laf

Seriously though, Daniel... will she fit in the garage with your stocker tires back on? You still got em right? Lotta work, but you'll sleep at night... Wait, never mind. You wont be sleepin' anyway. Bow Chicka Bow Wow! Congrats Buddy! :D

How about pulling the sparkplugs? :-laf :-laf :-laf

Seriously, I would remove the batteries, the fuel pump fuse and disconnect power to your FASS. I would then turn the wheels so it couldn't be towed. At that point, the thief would never get it started even if they took the time to find batteries for it. :D

How about "parking" it at a friends house that will be there. Someplace safe obviously.

Rent a stroage garage for a month and lock it in there.

I like taking ALL the relays and the high amperage fuse that feeds the fuse box under the hood. They would have to bring the whole auto parts store with them.

And lock a wheel "boot" on a wheel.

The battery idea is good, you HAVE to have a battery I think for the ECM etc, but batteries are pretty easy to carry to the theft site.

I don't think the 3rd gen Smarty is out yet. The 2nd gen Smarty has 2 disable modes in it as well.

One documented preventative is the 'club' or other visible steering wheel lock. Yes they can be defeated but most crooks are looking for the easy target, many will see the wheel lock and move on down the street.

I HATE thieves!!! #@$%!

I have the club, but I think it would be easily defeated with a portable battery operated sawzall. Cut a chunck out of the steering wheel and the club is gone with your truck.

A LARGE pair of bolt cutters cuts the steering wheel in an instant. 2 cuts and the club is gone. I saw a demo at the police department and 1. smash drivers side glass and open door 3 seconds, 2 cuts of the steering wheel 5 seconds, 8 seconds and they were taking the ignition lock out to put in a ignition lock they carried (with keys).

Club looks good, but I was surprised.

unplug the crank and cam sensors. will turn over but never start. . or just relocate the batteries into your garage as suggested, and put a cheap 1a trickle charger on it with clips to the battery connections under the hood [don't matter which one, they are connected together in parallel]
