Anyone out there? I'm disapointed no one responded regarding the overfilled differential after 44-views... Somebody usually has a comment, can you hear me now?

PDT :--)

I wouldn't overfill the diff's..... you'll get alot of foaming and if you vent is plugged you'll start to generate pressure in the housing...

how's that... ;):D

Dont do it.

I accidently overfilled mine as my driveway has a slight slope and I didnt think about it when filling mine up after service.

Well now my driver side axle seal leaks. I get to order a kit from quad 4x4 and replace it.

Plus after not too long of miles it just blew all the extra oil onto the underside of my truck and went down to the stock level.

UNLESS, you're on a long road trip, get a bad seal, don't notice it, hear a loud POP (as one of the ring teeth is shooting out through the diff cover, but don't stop to see what it was for another 50 miles. ) Then spend a couple of hours in a ditch cleaning out the remaining teeth that were down in the sump, JB Weld the hole in the cover, use some window putty for a sealant because you don't have any Perma-tex in your toolbox, and then limp the remaining 250 miles home, just to discover that no one has a replacement for a 3. 07, because they quit making them.

Other than that, it's not the weak link.

Ron,

I'm sorry that I never got back to you on that. Your description was very detailed and made sense, once I printed it out and looked underneath.

This story was about my 90, and the reason it's on the "dead-line" right now. Got the bearing race repaired on the 93 and should have it on the road this week.

Tugboat.

If you ever decide to do the conversion email me. I saved the machine programs for the parts it will take and I would be happy to loan you the cable splicing stuff. The quote they gave me to fix my Dana 70 was about 1200. They talked about machining the inside of the housing and all this stuff. I said no. And looked around for an 80. Used price was 1800 I about choked. But I wanted strong so I bit the bullet.
