Last night I finally had time to pull out my transmission to get it freshened up and to my supprise I found that 6 of the welds on my Sun Coast double laminated Flex plate were cracked. This is the second one from them that this has happened to. The first time they warranted the flex plate with no problem. Today when I called up Sun Coast they informed me that they do not carry the double laminated flex plates anymore and that there was nothing they could do and they don’t warranty them. They informed me that I could buy a new billet one from them but they could not do anything for me with my broke one. I was definitely disappointed in this because I spent some good money on this flex plate and figured I bought it from a reputable company that would stand behind their product, but after the phone call today it seems they do not care at all. I was not expecting a new flex plate to be given to me but I was expecting a little more than them telling me that they do not make them anymore and that they have no warranty. Still not happy about spending another $500 on a new flex plate#@$%!

Good info. I was gonna recommend my brother use Suncoast for his 06 when the time came (b/o geography). But this kind of stuff may make me recommend DTT of maybe Garmon.

... ..... I'd be more than dissapointed. If it was my fault, I understand, and I wouldn't ask them to replace it, but obviously there's been a problem if they no longer make them and you've had problems before. They should at least comp you a percentage towards the purchase of a new billet... ... . :shameonthem:

X2, plus a double helping of shame... .....

Mike. :)

Everyone should jump in on trashing a company they haven't dealt with...

Or maybe consider that someone bought a product quite a few years ago, it failed, they replaced it once, and since then they dropped the product from production and they can't replace it again.

Yeah, it sucks, but maybe instead of ******* all over them, call back and speak with someone else about alternatives.

Did the original flexplate have a lifetime warranty?

I have nothing but good things to say about Ron and the rest of the guys there at Suncoast.

It's worse that you think. Earlier this AM I contacted SC with a link to this post and apparently, they really don't care or they would have posted something.

Checking a low-volume message board and responding to a thread sent to them via email probably isn't as high on their priority list. Those guys are ALL really busy so they may not have even checked it yet.

Update: Jon at Sun Coast responded to my email today and he offered me a discount on one of their new flex plates. So maybe they do care if you complain enough.

Every time I've dealt with the guys there, they've been nothing but helpful to the best of their ability. I'm not going to lie though, sometimes it takes a while to get a reply. They are very busy, and a lot of the guys are out at events all over the region on weekends.

I'm glad they're helping you out.

Fair enough, I'll change the double shame to a thumbs up. ;)

Sometimes you have to step up even if you lose some money.

You have to look at the bigger picture.

They did even if it took a bit for the response.

Nice work Suncoast.

Mike. :)

We think a lot alike, Mr. Wilson. Ditto.
