my grandfather is wanting to do disc brake conversion on his 93 dually, is there a company that sells a conversion for it?

Might be better off sourcing a disk brake D80. Don't think there is a conversion setup for a dually that works well.

Im hearing that Dana has Axels you can order in a create , so with that being said they might have the parts to do disc brakes possibly

If you find a D80 with disks it will be a 3. 55 and then your front will still be a 3. 54.

Now if your 2wd, your laughing like a clown.

However, I am told after much research and speaking with many companies that you would not have enough guts in the 1st gen brake booster for it to work. Would also new the hydra boost system off a second gen then.

Axles are really not the issue on a full floating rear end. The hub and mounting harware is where it all happens. Dodge used to sel and disk brake conversion for the drum types before switching to rear disks but it was extremely expensive, like $3500 10-15 years ago, and I believe it only fit the 2nd gen housing.

Thats normal, the front diff should be slightly higher geared than the rear to negate problems with push bind on the drive train. Steering is also much worse tryin to fight that bind. A pull bind is easier to steer and easier on the drive train. The actual difference is less than 1 100th IIRC correctly because the ratios are rounded for ease of identification.

Thats pretty much what I find also. Without the hydro boost and higher volume MC its a lot of money for no gain. Conversions like the Hot Rod Shop's are fine but they use light duty calipers that are not really intended for heavy use. On a DD they are probably fine but there just does not seem to be enough of a gian to really make it worthwhile.

Have you looked into the piston upgrade? Where they use the larger bore GM pistons on the Dodge backing plate? Pretty much a bolt up operation, with a noticeble difference in stopping power... ... and you get to keep your factory pads and drums.....

It just dawned on me that dodge did do motor home chassis with the gen 2 trucks if there rear disc brakes or not im not shure but a few phone calls may turn up some thing
