Hello all. I have an 06 3500 with stock wheels. I have some sort of discoloration on them I think from brake dust. Problem is, it doe's not come off. Any suggestions on removing this stuff? Thanks. John
Are yours the chrome wheels? Mine have the same problem. Spotty, looks like corrosion, smooth, black/grey in color. Does not appear to be through the chrome to the base metal. If it was it would be red/rust and have a profile. Hopefully someone will help us out.
Yes they are the chrome wheels. It is mainly on the drivers front wheel. The other 3 have some but not as much as that one. I wonder if it is a defect in the wheel chroming process. ??
I have the same issue. Stock steel wheels with the chrome skin. Looks like poor chroming to me, and has pitted. I figured I wouldn't waste my energy pursuing with dealer (the truck has never had to go back for anything else [warranty] yet... ). If I found out Chrysler was offering a fix, I'd probably get in line.
